"Susan reveals to us in this book her financial experience and wisdom. All in all, it is the best book I have ever read. It is well written for its purpose, but what is most important to me is Susan’s ‘integral’ or ‘holistic’ approach to life. In this, I could be biased because this is the way I view life. I believe that we specialise in a certain area, but we should not lose sight of the whole picture, for example how we are going to deploy our speciality to serve other disciplines and society at large.
My bias aside, her use of her family’s struggle and achievements, as an example, was skilfully and aptly deployed to explain all the things she wanted to explain about wisely conducting financial affairs. By referring to the qualities of her mum, dad and others who mentored and collaborated with them, every now and then at the right place and moment in the book, helped make the ideas easy to understand and relate to.
Her reference to life in Palestine, her mother’s kitchen and ideas about peace add to the power of her holistic approach and I find them very relevant to what she is trying to communicate".
